The Grand Wizard Stevie 'D' began
his DJing career spinning records at house parties and other private
functions in New Haven and Waterbury CT in 1980 at the age of 15. In
1983 he teamed up with the Great
Doc-"P"
while they were roommates at the University of Hartford, and the two
have been best friends and business partners ever since; as well as the
nucleus of the Original Sound Masters Crew. In 1986 the two started
working the club scene together, and Stevie 'D' became a member of The
Hill Promotional Group, the states top record pool. Stevie 'D' would
later become the Assistant Director, then Director, and ultimately the
owner when it became Connecticut's Music Pool in 1993.
In 1987 Stevie 'D' interned at
WNHC 1340am as
the producer for the morning show, Friday Night Mixshow DJ, and
substitute air personality. Upon graduating from the University of
Hartford in 1987 with a degree in Mass Communications (Radio
Programming / Journalism), Stevie 'D' was hired for a position at WNHC
1340AM, where he remained for the next two years.

In April of 1998 Stevie 'D' joined
the staff of WYBC
94.3 FM as the DJ for, and co-creator of, the top rated
Friday Night Dance Party hosted by The Great Doc-"P" along with Frank
T., the resident Weird News Anchor. Due to the shows success
Stevie 'D' was offered, and accepted, the position of Assistant Program
Director, and also became the station's Community
Representative. During his tenure Stevie 'D' was instrumental
in achieving the station's first #1 Arbitron rating, as well as
maintaining the station's Top 3 ranking in the market.
Since leaving the station in March of 2001, Stevie 'D' has been
focusing on his other endeavors including music production, promotions,
marketing, consulting, and artist management & development
through his company Stephen Michael Entertainment.
In September of 2002 Stevie 'D' returned to the WYBC airwaves in an
effort to help boost the ratings. Formerly spinning classic
vinyl Mon-Fri from 5-6pm on The Old School Drive at 5, Stevie 'D' was
also able to break new music as the creator, producer and driving force
behind the top rated Saturday night mixshow aptly named Club YBC; which
remained highly rated for the complete two years plus that it aired,
ending in August of 2005.
